GreenLine - Greener People, Greener World

14 February 2012 The Green Schools Campaign saw itself surrounded today by the 7th and 8th graders of St. Anne's High School, Malad. The Session conducted was on the topic of energy. However, before we got to the main subject for the day, the boys and girls spoke about how they had completed most of their tasks from the previous session on water. Miss Seema Ramdas, who has been leading the children of the environment club here told Alden that there were more than 150 houses in which the "Cut the Flush" Campaign is already being implemented. The session on energy conservation began with the start-up activity showing the children the differences in lifestyle that have come about in the last thirty years. From here, Alden did a presentation on the energy statistics for India as well as the global scenes for coal and oil/petrol (the two main fossil fuels used). 7 th December 2011               The nature club from St.Anne’s is indeed an amazing one and are already doing their bit to make their school more eco-friendly one. Alden started out the session by asking the students what efforts were taken up by them as a Nature Club since the previous session. The club members listed out number of activities they have carried out to promote the green movement in their school ( for e.g. selling cloth bags on the day of  Open House and buying Coffee mugs for their teachers so as to prevent them from using paper/plastic cups, visiting the BNHS and Clean up Drive.etc ).                       Following this, the GreenLine documentary ‘Value Water’ was shown to the children. September 16, 2011 Team GreenLine continued with its second edition of the Green Schools Campaign today, with an interesting session at St. Anne's High School, Malad. What made the session interesting was the fact that the students had already carried out an eco-mapping exercise in the last year, yet wanted to do an eco-mapping of the school. The main difference in the mapping this time is the fact that the students will be doing a much more in-depth one this time.  A new school on The Green Schools Campaign roster, we wish the  the very best!
